2000 Riverside Coaches and Staff

Head Coach Jim Kirkley

Coach Kirkley has been the Riverside lacrosse coach since 1993, the second year of the program. In 1998 and 1999 his teams won the NCHSLA (public school) championship. He has 18 years of coaching experience in Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and North Carolina. He played college lacrosse at Bucknell University, where he was a long stick defenseman. He has a master's degree in divinity from Gordon-Conwell Seminary and a Ph.D. from Duke University. Every summer he punishes his aging body by playing in the master's division at the Vail Shootout. He has been known to become agitated at the occasional officiating call, prompting a visiting fan once to exclaim, "This guy's an ordained minister?"

Assistant Coach Glenn Estacio

Coach Estacio specializes in offense and the extra-man offense. He played at North Carolina prep powerhouse Durham Academy. In addition to being an offensive expert, he is a stick-stringing wizard. He has a cool and even temperament, which makes him the perfect complement to Coach Kirkley's sometimes fiery demeanor.
