»The 2001 alumni game will be at 5 p.m. on June 16 at Riverside's stadium field. There will be a cookout for alumni and invited guests afterward. Players should bring as much of their equipment as they can. Some -- not much -- equipment will be available to borrow.

Pirates down Tigers 14-9; Feifs and Ladd named MVPs
Chris Feifs had six goals to lead Riverside to its third NCHSLA state championship in four years on Saturday, defeating rival Chapel Hill 14-9. Feifs was named the game's offensive MVP and Pirate goalie Richard Ladd, who registered 11 saves, was named the defensive MVP of the championship game. Graham Murray had three goals, Andy DeLamielleure had two, and Laurence Tilley, Owen Ham and Tim Gregory added one each. Tilley also had four assists, DeLamielleure had two and Kevin Raspet had one assist. [Story] [Box Score] [Latest Stats]

Ladd shines as Riverside downs S.E. Guilford
Goalie play sparkled on both teams Thursday night, but Riverside goalkeeper Richard Ladd sparkled a little bit brighter as his 15 saves helped the Pirates to an 8-5 NCHSLA semifinal victory over a tough Southeast Guilford team. Chris Feifs led in the offensive category with four goals, breaking Riverside's single-season scoring record. Graham Murray added two and Andy DeLamielleure and Ladd (working in the EMO lineup) each scored one. This puts Riverside into the NCHSLA state championship game for the fourth time in five years. They meet the Chapel Hill Tigers for the fourth time this year on Saturday at 3 p.m. at UNC's Henry Stadium [Directions] for the state title. [Story] [Box Score]

Pirates handle 7th-seeded Reynolds 16-1
After a sluggish first seven minutes of the game, Riverside's offense woke up and put Winston-Salem Reynolds away 16-1 Friday, May 11, in the first round of the NCHSLA state tournament. Chris Feifs led with five goals. Laurence Tilley and Andy DeLamielleure each had three, and Richard Ladd, Kevin Raspet, Graham Murray, Tim Gregory and Anthony Howard added one each. Cory Coffman had four assists in the win, while Tilley had three and Owen Ham and Raspet each added an assist. [Story] [Box Score] The Pirates next play the winner of Friday's Hoggard-S.E. Guilford game on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Riverside.

Chapel Hill wins PAC-6 final 10-9 over Pirates
No prep lacrosse fan could have asked for a better game on Thursday night, May 3, as Riverside and Chapel Hill faced off for the PAC-6 Tournament Championship. Riverside fans certainly would have preferred a different outcome, though, as a gritty Tiger team outscored Riverside 5-3 in the final quarter to win a 10-9 come-from-behind victory. Pirates down Jordan 8-5, face CH in PAC-6 final
Riverside, using a 6-1 scoring advantage and a smothering defense in the second half, came from behind to defeat Jordan 8-5 in a thrilling PAC-6 Tournament Semifinal game on Tuesday, May 1. They now face Chapel Hill tonight at 7 p.m. at Orange in the PAC-6 Tournament Final. Chapel Hill defeated Orange 12-5 in the early game on Tuesday to make the finals. [Story] [Box Score]

Six Pirates named to 2001 PAC-6 All-Conference team
Six Pirates were named to the PAC-6 All-Conference team for 2001: Goalie Richard Ladd, attackman Laurence Tilley, midfielders Chris Feifs, Kevin Raspet and Cory Coffman, and defenseman Kevin Radack. Pirates step up shorthanded again, down ECH 8-5
Riverside, playing without starters Laurence Tilley and Cory Coffman for the second straight game, defeated East Chapel Hill 8-5 on Thursday, April 26. Graham Murray led the scoring with three goals. Kevin Raspet added two more, and Chris Feifs, Andy DeLamielleure and Tim Gregory added one each. [Story] [Box Score]

Pirates come from behind to beat Jordan 8-6
Trailing by three goals in the third quarter, the Pirates came from behind to defeat the Jordan Falcons 8-6, holding Jordan to only one goal in the second half while scoring five of their own. Chris Feifs led the scoring with five goals. Graham Murray, Tim Gregory and Kevin Raspet each added one. [Story] [Box Score]

Feifs named
All-American

Riverside junior midfielder and faceoff man Chris Fiefs has been named a U.S. Lacrosse high school All-American, it was announced on May 19. In addition, the NCHSLA All-State team was announced on May 19. Three Riverside players -- Feifs, Kevin Raspet and goalie Richard Ladd -- were named to the first team. Pirate attackman Laurence Tilley and Riverside defenseman Kevin Radack won honorable mention.
