![]() | Head Coach Jim Kirkley Coach Kirkley has been the Riverside lacrosse coach since 1993, the second year of the program. In 1998, 1999, 2001 and 2002 his teams won the NCHSLA (public school) championship. He has 23 years of coaching experience in Maryland, Massachusetts, New York and North Carolina. He played college lacrosse at Bucknell University, where he was a long stick defenseman. He has a master's degree in divinity from Gordon-Conwell Seminary and a Ph.D. from Duke University. Most summers he punishes his aging body by playing in the master's division at the Vail Shootout. He has been known to become agitated at the occasional officiating call, prompting a visiting fan once to exclaim, "This guy's an ordained minister?" |
| Asst. Coach Al D'Amelio Al D'Amelio grew up on Long Island where he had the privilege of playing high school lacrosse for the legendary Bill Tierney, Joe Cuozzo and Bill Martens. While at Ward Melville he earned All-County honors and was MVP of the 1982 Long Island Championship game. He is a graduate of Cornell University where he played attack under Coach Richie Moran. In 2004 he coached his alma mater, Ward Melville, to an undefeated season while being awarded Suffolk County Co-Coach of the Year. He serves as offensive coordinator for the Pirates. |

| Student Assistants T.L. Hutchins (left) and Anthony Howard (right) are serving as student assistant coaches for 2005. Both are students at NC State University and both played their high school lacrosse at Riverside. Anthony graduated in 2003. He was a captain his senior year and is best known for scoring the winning goal in overtime in 2002 that won the state championship for Riverside. T.L. graduated in 2004. He also was a captain his senior year. |
