It's been fun these last 10 years, but it's time for The Webmaster to move on. Thanks to Nick for agreeing to give the forum a new home.

Webmaster comments   Yes. Announcement a a new link coming soon.

freshmen that started varsity last season
Will be interesting to see how much the young freshmen(last season) like Schmidt,Norwood,Abrams,Wittekind will contribute to their teams now that they have grown a year.

Riverside @ Wilmington
Riverside had moments with potential. Mike Evans and Kyle Anderson stood out with poles. Obvious that most of the guys haven't been practicing, and I'm sure they were missing some players. They need lots of work if they're going to Charlotte. May be a long year,

Chhs echhs team
I know that it is an All star team mostly from chapel hill and east, although I've heard that Sam Parker from carrboro high as well as Thomas Shmidt from Jordan are in the team. Seems like a high caliber group of players.

2013 NC Denver Recruit
Connor Flynn, M, Charlotte Catholic (N.C.) has committed to Denver. A first team All-league honoree after dropping 41 goals and 13 assists as a sophomore, Flynn played for Team Carolina Elite in the summer. He was named an All-Star at the Gait Cup and was named an NSCLA All-American. He also considered Loyola, Maryland, Navy, Ohio State and Rutgers.....CONGRATS!

Re: CHHS & ECHHS
As a spectator from another school, there were only a few kids I recognized on that team. One from Chapel Hill, Peter Norwood played really well, and someone said the goalie, Andy ? was from CH. Baxter Perkins was there on Sat. and Ryan Dotson scored a lot. They had a left-handed attack that was good and the younger Zirkle kid was on that team. Heard someone say they were 4-2, with one loss in OT.

CHHS ECHHS Team
At wilmington there was a team from the Chapel Hill area. After talking to one of the parents I learned that they were mostly freshman and sophmores. (One or two upperclassmen joined them) They played in the upper bracket, and looked VERY impressive. It was obvious that they were young and small but that talent was incredible. Does anyone know some of the players on that team?
18 :54 10/19/2011

Beasts/wilmington
Beasts ( jordan plus some FCA) beat Palmetto 11-5 saturday. Lost a couple of boys for sunday and gave up a 6-1 lead to lose. Sam Lindsey was a handful for everybody. The defense was strong.Goalie play was excellent.

Wilmington
Thank you LKN Fan, we hope everyone comes back next year. Todd with Battle Lax did a great job as usual, they are talking about adding more teams next year and moving the B division to another venue. There was a lot of good lax played this weekend. I do think the LSA Lake Norman game was one of the better ones. As I said before LKN is legit.
10 :22 10/19/2011 - JTHLax

LKN/LSA Score in Wilm
Yes the LKN-LSA (Hoggard) score was 5-2. LKN had shut outs against RLC & Millbrook I think, were the 2 teams. LSA was a good team though.

Wilmington
Red Balloons looked pretty good don't know where they're from but the crushed the Apex team
21 :26 10/18/2011

Wilmington
Many good teams. (Lake Norman, Apex, Charlotte Catholic, Riverside, E. Chapel Hill, Hoggard, Athens Drive, Jordan, Palmetto). All I can say is : well run, great time, good lacrosse and excellent weather! A little biased, but Lake Norman was the best team there. I'm sure many rosters were missing players do to fall sports but it was definitely worth the trip.
19 :03 10/18/2011 - LKN Fan

Lake Norman
You are mistaken about LSA Lake Norman game I was scorekeeper and my son scored the 2 goals.

QR for Droid
Webmaster,
The scan worked perfectly for me, and I'm possibly the most technologically inept person on the planet.

Does the fact that the RHS Forum is the first time I've ever tried to use this technology say anything???
08 :20 10/18/2011 - First time for everything

Webmaster comments   Glad to have helped increase your technological geekiness. On the Parade of Homes this past weekend I noticed these on all the houses over in Wake County, so thought I'd give it a whirl. I'm sure there's some lax use for it somewhere, or at least someone will think of one.

Lake Norman
Lake Norman beat LSA 9-0 I believe, three of their games were shutouts.
18 :11 10/17/2011

Just testing
Nothing tricky. If you scan this with your smart phone it should take you to the forum. Just a test. You have to download a QR (Quick Reader) app for your phone in order to scan.

Congratulations to Lake Norman!!

Wilmington Fall Lacrosse Champs (A bracket)
Van Lax Tournament Champs (U19 Elite)

Wakefield
Let's see... that year they beat, according to Laxpower, a #7 ranked Gibbons team, a #15 ranked Holly Springs team twice, both in the regular season.

In the playoffs, they beat both a #13 Wilmington Hoggard and a #10 Greensboro Page before getting beaten badly by a vastly superior Providence team.

Of course, that year Providence was vastly superior to everyone.

To say that they played no one just isn't true, but you're entitled to your opinion, no matter how wrong you are!!!
11 :45 10/17/2011 - To be accurate

Wilmington Tourney
Stampede over the Warriors(Laney) in the B division. Lake Norman over Palmetto in the A division. LSA(Hoggard) lost to Lake Norman 5-2, I think, in the second round. Lake Norman looks legit.

Colorado HS team looking for games
G olden HS from Colorado would like to visit North Carolina for our Spring Break 2012 trip to play two games and possibly a scrimmage. We are a mid-level team (84/85 PR) with a young defense and midfield. Available dates are 3/26/12 through 3/30/12. Please email Head Coach Kurt Ohlen at kohlen@jeffco.k12.co.us or call (303)523-8283 if interested. Thank you.

Wakefield
Went 19-1 because they played no one... lost 15-3 to Providence

Anyone out in Wilmington this weekend? Who's looking good?

So much early badgering talk. Its very early people to be making predictions and assumptions and badgering. Here is a prediction tho Heritage 7 Wakefield 5.

Johnstonlax.com
Here's the website that Coach St. Peter noted but didn't give. The website calendar lists the Riverwood clinic on Wednesday, Oct. 19, not Monday. Also it lists the clinic time as 5:30 am which hopefully is an error with the clinic at 5:30 pm instead.

www.johnstonlax.com

And the game keeps growing and growing... Thanks to all who give of their time to grow and nurture the game.
08 :53 10/14/2011

Wakefield
Three years ago Wakefield went 19-1 and their only loss was to the eventual state champ, Providence. Admittedly, they've not gotten back to that level since, but I mention it in response to the question about "when did they ever do anything in the playoffs?"
08 :15 10/14/2011 - To be accurate

New Site
I don't like the new site - "http://www.nclaxforums.com/lacrosse_forum/index.php" - I want this one to stay up!!! I say instead of finding a new site for NC Lax we just browbeat our webmaster to keep this one open!!! Who's with me????

Webmaster comments   A plan is afoot to keep this forum going, with a new name, of course, because it won't be an RHS site, and at a new address. Everything else, except the top logo, would remain the same. More later.

Thanks good luck to you also. Weather is going to be awesome, mid 70's and sunny. The Charlotte Classic looks like a great tournament, not sure why we aren't participating in it.
Watch out for LSA #7 Gowdy's a junior M/A that can rip it.
